Cutting-edge technology is apparent at the Shepard
Schools. Computers in all classrooms and labs have Internet access.
A state-of-the-art network connects all computers. All teachers
receive in-service training in computer education. Shepard also
has computer specialists tutoring each child as part of their program.
Students are encouraged to enter post-secondary
programs. Many Shepard students are now in college, ranging from
community colleges to some of our nationally renowned universities.
For students who choose a different path, many enroll in advanced
technical and vocational programs. Our goal is to make sure the
opportunity to succeed is offered to each and every student.
With the 1999-2000 school year, the Shepard Schools
in partnership with the Windsor Schools opened their Community Center/Theater
in Pompton Lakes for drama, the arts and assembly programs for all
Windsor/Shepard students and the community. The center has a full-sized
gymnasium, day care center for staff, meeting room and state-of-the-art
theatre with 193 seats. The project reflects Shepard's commitment
to quality facilities and services for its students.
